![]() ![]() There is one moving sidewalk that goes from the canyon up to where the Elephant Odyssey is, but you can see that pretty well from the bus so you might not need to go back up to it. I like the "cat walk" as it's called, a sidewalk that runs in front of several large enclosures with big cats. Then see whatever else you want at the lower level. Walk down that and at the bottom, turn left and go to the panda exhibit. Many visitors don't even know it's there. For getting to the bottom of the canyon, I really like the lush Fern Canyon which is a very old feature, and the top of it is near where you get on the bus tour. The panda exhibit is at the bottom of the main canyon and you can walk down there, and take a moving sidewalk back to the upper level so you don't have to walk back uphill. After that, just walk around to see exhibits that you want to see but could not see from the bus. I would take the bus tour first, which covers a good % of the zoo's exhibits, though not all. In the afternoons, especially on hot summer days, many animals will be sleeping or at least sedentary. I would get to the zoo when it opens in the morning (usually 9 am) as the animals are more active in the mornings. ![]()
